Your contribution to our team

You advise railways, infrastructure operators, authorities and industrial companies on issues relating to safety, risk and the further development of the rail system. In doing so, you lead and work on projects at the interface of infrastructure, technology, operations and organisation. You develop solution approaches, prepare decision-making bases and accompany our clients from analysis through conception to implementation.

A focus of your work lies in the development of quantitative and qualitative risk analyses, for example in the context of Automatic Train Operation (ATO). You support our clients from risk analysis and safety assessment through to the derivation of safety requirements and the preparation and professional support of implementation. In addition, you work on other issues in various fields of the railway sector where risk-oriented solutions are sought, e.g. in safety management, in planning measures and in the safe introduction of new automation and digitalisation solutions in rail operations.

Your skills

• University degree in engineering or natural sciences (ETH, university, university of applied sciences)
• Professional experience in the railway sector, ideally in an engineering, consulting or railway company
• Experience in leading and working on demanding projects
• Strong analytical skills and enjoyment in thinking and working conceptually
• Sound knowledge of the rail system as well as the interrelationships between technology, operations, safety and organisation
• Experience with risk analyses, risk assessments or safety assessments of technical systems
• Experience with the RAMS process and the application of EN 50126
• Experience with approval procedures and the preparation of safety cases for technical rail systems is an advantage
• Knowledge in the field of signalling and control technology, ETCS and ATO is an advantage
• Very good German skills as well as good English skills are a must. French skills are an advantage
