Project Manager Embedded (Medical) Software

At our development centre in Wil SG, we realise products for medium and large quantities and develop technologies for globally leading, future-oriented companies.

To support our Embedded Software team in the development of medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics as well as for general tasks in the field of software and firmware development, we are looking for you as a project manager.

Area of Activity

As a goal-oriented individual with deep professional expertise, you oversee the development and implementation of firmware and software in the regulated environment for medical technology or industrial applications. As an experienced team member, you are responsible for project management to implement and deploy firmware and software with the required quality and according to the development process.

You work in a team of highly qualified software engineers, embedded electronics specialists, and firmware developers. Your motivation and structured working style enable you to efficiently implement technological solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Gathering technical requirements from customer inquiries
• Planning firmware/software development projects considering technical, financial, and schedule goals (hybrid project management, with defined scope, timeline, and budget)
• Negotiations with customers and presentation of results
• Coordination and communication internally as well as with customers
• Independent management of your projects, leading and motivating the development team while considering the required processes and objectives
• Implementation of new technologies and methods
• If applicable, initial sketching of software architecture/modularisation as a basis for effort estimation
• Support in customer acquisition and lead in preparing offers

Requirements

• Degree in a technical university course (FH/ETH) and several years of experience in embedded software/firmware development
• Several years of experience in project management and collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
• Several years of experience in software & systems engineering as well as architecture
• You are curious and always looking for new ways to improve or expand your efficiency and skills
• You are accustomed to working in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment and present yourself as a competent contact person to employees and customers
• You are interested in developing in a regulated environment (IEC 62304)
• You are characterised by structured and pragmatic working methods
• You communicate confidently in German and have good English skills

A plus is:

• You have professional expertise in the field of medical software and firmware (IEC 62304)
• You have some experience in agile development with hardware
• You can also take on content-related tasks if required
