About the job

Under the umbrella of Samowar, the Prevention Office and the Youth Counselling of the Meilen district operate. The two departments work closely together and are jointly managed by the staff.

The Prevention Office is part of the network of regional addiction prevention centres in the canton of Zurich and is committed to prevention and health promotion in the 11 municipalities of the district. We inform, support and accompany organisations and (specialist) persons from all areas of society and are dedicated to creating health-promoting living environments, further developing structures and creating conditions that enable a healthy life.

A position is to be filled in the Prevention Office team from March 2027 (or by arrangement).

Specialist (Addiction) Prevention 70%

What we expect from you

• Tertiary qualification in the social, educational or psychological field (FH, university, HFS)
• Experience in the areas of prevention/health promotion as well as adult education
• Experience in project management
• Ideally further training in counselling and/or organisational development
• Strong organisational and communication skills as well as confident presentation skills
• Ability to work both in the (management) team and very independently
• Good written expression
• Interest in working with diverse target groups
• Willingness to work flexible hours (evening appointments)

Your tasks in the Prevention Office

• Development, implementation and evaluation of (addiction) prevention projects focusing on childhood, youth/apprentices and the elderly
• Advising school social workers and teachers on (addiction) prevention topics
• Advising and supporting school principals in the development of prevention concepts
• Parents' evenings in collaboration with the school
• Designing and leading workshops, lectures and further training on various topics
• Further developing and promoting existing offers
• Networking work in the region and canton
• Joint management of the organisation and taking responsibility for management areas
