Your tasks:
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW comprises ten universities with over 13,000 students. The Campus Brugg-Windisch Library offers specialist literature for the universities of Education, Engineering and Environment, Computer Science, and Business and includes around 80,000 print media, 400,000 e-books, and 95,000 e-journals. As a member of the SLSP network, the library works with the Alma library system to ensure the best possible service for its users.
As the deputy head of the FHNW Library Brugg-Windisch, you support the library management in operational leadership as well as in the strategic development of the library. You take on a central role in the organization and assume overall responsibility in the absence of the head. The position offers a versatile and designable field of tasks.
Your tasks:
- Support of the library management in strategic, personnel, and administrative matters
- Assumption of overall responsibility in the absence of the head
- Personnel management and further development of the library services team
- Responsibility for the areas of marketing and user services
- Collaboration in research support services, information literacy, and the business subject department
- Leadership and/or participation in projects and special assignments
Your profile:
- Training as a scientific librarian with appropriate further education or comparable qualification
- Sound knowledge in information literacy as well as pronounced training and presentation skills
- Experience with the Alma library system
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a university library
- Leadership training or proven leadership experience
- Independent, structured, and team-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
