The gibb Vocational School Bern is a vocational school of the Canton of Bern.
We teach around 7,000 young people in more than 60 commercial-industrial professions and train about 1,000 professionals part-time in higher vocational education (HBB). In addition, we offer the bridging programs pre-apprenticeship and BPI (Vocational Preparatory School Year Practice and Integration).

Tasks
As one of two class teachers, you are responsible for teaching a BPI-1 class.
You teach adolescents and young adults in general education subjects with a focus on language acquisition. In addition to the professional content, career choice and the promotion of social skills as well as strengthening self-efficacy are central to the BPI classes.
You supervise and accompany the learners as a class teacher and mostly teach in team teaching.
Requirements
You have a teaching diploma for secondary level I or II.
Ideally, you also have knowledge in the field of special education and/or German as a second language (DaZ) as well as experience working with young migrants. Experience in supporting learners in the career choice process is an advantage.
You are interested in further training as a language proficiency examiner or already have this qualification.
Basic requirements are:
- Teaching diploma
- Enjoyment of language-sensitive teaching
- Flexibility, patience, and a good sense in dealing with adolescent and adult learners
- Interest in professional and pedagogical further education
- Digital skills
- Motivation to actively further develop the bridging programs at gibb
