The Witzwil Correctional Facility enforces sentences and measures on 184 adult men in open imprisonment as well as in administrative detention under immigration law. The inmates are managed and supported in various professions in agriculture, trade and supply according to work-educational principles. Around 140 employees work consistently towards the goal of socialisation and reducing recidivism of the prisoners. Production goals and enforcement goals do not compete but complement each other.

Your tasks

• You work in a team and are responsible for the administrative day-to-day business
• Manage and coordinate admissions and discharges including leave and holiday processes of the persons admitted to us
• Support in the visiting and transport processes
• Responsible for the incoming and outgoing institutional and enforcement mail
• Actively assist with the internal accounting of the admitted persons
• Support in the area of IT and cell room technology for the admitted persons and process user changes for the employees of JVA Witzwil

Your profile

• Commercial basic training with several years of professional experience
• Knowledge in the field of correctional services facilitates your entry
• You have a flair for numbers, think in networks and act in a service-oriented manner
• Very good knowledge of Office products, as well as easy access to various IT applications
• Communication in both German and French
• Efficient, precise, reliable and independent way of working
• You keep a calm head even in hectic daily routines

About the Office for Correctional Services

The Office for Correctional Services (AJV) is responsible within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID) for open and closed penal and measure enforcement for adults and juveniles with around 1000 employees. To fulfil this task, the office has four concordat correctional facilities, four regional prisons, the surveillance station at Inselspital, the detention control centre as well as probation and enforcement services at its disposal.
