The Mercure Zürich City opened on 1 November 2023 in Zürich Altstetten. It combines modern architecture with elegant flair in a vibrant metropolis. Its 319 rooms in three categories, the fitness and wellness area, modern seminar rooms with the latest technical equipment, as well as the gastronomy with restaurant, bar and club promise a pleasant stay – both for business and private visits.
We are looking for a committed personality for our new Executive Housekeeping Manager position.
As Executive Housekeeping Manager, you will ensure a consistently high cleaning, hygiene and quality standard throughout the hotel together with our external housekeeping service provider. You are the central interface between the hotel and the external partner and are particularly responsible for quality control, coordination of services, checking the agreed standards as well as the control and approval of the corresponding invoices.
You ensure that the guest rooms and public areas always meet the quality standards of a 4-star hotel and work closely with the operational departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Job Description
- With your eye for detail, you take responsibility for quality and cleanliness throughout the hotel.
- Control is your thing: You conduct regular room and quality checks.
- You ensure that our housekeeping, hygiene and hotel standards are adhered to.
- As a central contact person, you coordinate our external housekeeping service provider.
- You coordinate and monitor the daily services provided and ensure that what has been agreed is implemented.
- You stay on top of things: you identify quality deficiencies, address them and ensure they are rectified.
- You check the invoices of our service provider and compare the billed services with those actually provided.
- You work closely with Front Office, Maintenance and other teams.
- You take feedback and complaints from our guests regarding cleanliness and quality seriously, handle them solution-oriented and follow up until completion.
- Laundry, consumables and housekeeping equipment are always under your control.
- You support audits and inspections and help to continuously develop our quality standards.
Qualifications
- You have a completed training in hospitality, preferably in housekeeping.
- You bring experience in housekeeping of a 4- or 5-star hotel.
- A leading or coordinating role is already familiar to you.
- Quality and responsibility are a matter of course for you.
- You are organised, work in a structured way and keep an overview even in hectic situations.
- You communicate clearly, can assert yourself and think solution-oriented.
- You are good with numbers and have experience in invoice verification.
- You have good German and English skills.
- You work confidently and routinely with MS Office.
- You are flexible and willing to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
