Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is a professional and personal IT service provider operating high-performance systems in its own secure data centres in Switzerland. The company offers everything from a single source, from server housing and cloud storage to backup and disaster recovery solutions, as well as virtual workplaces and team collaboration. The team is experienced, flexible, and relies on modern technology to implement customised IT solutions for SMEs.
Role:
For a technically versatile IT environment, an experienced individual is sought who operates and actively develops modern infrastructure platforms. The focus is on virtualisation, storage, backup, network technology, and the operation of hosted business environments for Swiss companies.
The position combines engineering with varied customer projects and technical support. From planning new environments to migrations and ongoing optimisation, you will work closely with a small team and software development. Flexible home office options complement the working model.
Responsibilities:
Operation, maintenance, and further development of data centre infrastructures with virtualisation, storage, backup, and network
Building new customer environments as well as carrying out cloud migrations and infrastructure projects
Planning and implementing network and firewall adjustments
Handling technical support cases from 1st to 3rd level within the team
Performing service assignments at customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein
Contributing to automations and new services, for example in the area of locally operated AI models
Qualifications:
Professional experience as a systems engineer or in a comparable IT infrastructure role
Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Proxmox as well as ideally storage and backup solutions
Good network knowledge in VLAN, routing, and switching
Analytical and systematic working style as well as clear communication with customers
Fluent German and Swiss German skills as well as a category B driving licence
