System Engineer Microsoft & VMware (m/f/d)

Role:
Stable systems do not arise by chance but through meticulous work behind the scenes. This is exactly where your position as System Engineer Microsoft & VMware comes in. You navigate effortlessly between virtualised server landscapes, messaging services and hybrid identities. You take the helm during technical integrations and migrations and accompany them until stable operation is achieved. An internationally influenced environment with short communication paths and deep technical expertise awaits you.
Responsibilities:
You administer the local Active Directory with group policies, user and service accounts, DNS as well as DHCP and manage the hybrid identity synchronisation with Microsoft Entra ID
The operation of VMware vSphere/ESXi, Windows application servers as well as central storage and backup services is in your hands
You keep the local and hybrid infrastructure running and monitor performance, security and lifecycle
Furthermore, you manage Microsoft Exchange and hybrid messaging services, analyse mail flow disruptions and strengthen the protection of mail domains
You plan patches and updates proactively and support 2nd and 3rd level in incidents, problems and changes
Additionally, you drive infrastructure projects forward, from analysis to handover including technical documentation
Qualifications:
Your foundation is a further education in information technology or an equivalent background with solid practical experience
You have worked for several years with Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Entra Connect
Virtualised server environments, monitoring and hardening measures around VMware vSphere/ESXi are part of your daily routine
You are familiar with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, as well as structured incident, change and root cause procedures
Experience from migration projects helps you, automation with PowerShell and certifications from Microsoft or VMware are welcome
Moreover, you work independently and reliably in a team, communicate confidently in German and handle English exchanges effortlessly
