Team Leader Back Office & Payroll

As Team Leader Back Office & Payroll, you are responsible for central personnel administration and the complete payroll process for around 650 employees. Together with your team, you ensure that the monthly payroll processing, the associated checks and reconciliations, as well as the year-end and year-beginning tasks, are carried out correctly and on time.
At the same time, you lead the HR Operations team, establish clear responsibilities, and develop simple, uniform, and as digital as possible processes together with the HR Business Partners.
The role is deliberately operationally close: you bear overall responsibility for operations and directly apply your payroll and HR operations experience in complex cases, bottlenecks, and deputy situations.
- Professional and personnel leadership of the HR Back Office area including resource, deputy, and knowledge management
- Overall responsibility for correct and timely payroll processing including checks, social insurances, withholding taxes, and year-end tasks
- Management of payroll interfaces to PEP, financial accounting, insurances, and other systems
- Management and quality assurance of central personnel administration with entries, exits, changes, and other HR processes
- Establishment of uniform responsibilities, processes, control mechanisms, checklists, and filing
- Close cooperation with HR Business Partners and other HRM functions
- Further development and digitalisation of HR and payroll processes as well as ensuring a continuous improvement process
- Several years of solid experience in payroll and personnel administration, including complex salary structures and year-end tasks
- Very good knowledge of Swiss labour, social insurance, and withholding tax law
- Leadership experience or proven experience in the professional management of an HR and payroll team
- Experience with payroll, time management, and HR systems as well as digitally supported processes
- Ability to structure, standardise complex processes and pragmatically stabilise an operationally burdened area
- Payroll specialist certificate, HR specialist certificate or comparable further training; ideally experience in a decentralised organisation, healthcare, or a comparable 24/7 environment
