Head of Department Short-Term Urban Space Enhancements

Tasks

• You lead the Short-Term Urban Space Enhancements department in terms of personnel, organisation and expertise with 5–7 employees and continuously develop it further.
• As a member of the Traffic and Urban Space management team, you develop the multi-year plan, prioritise ongoing tasks, topics and projects, and further develop the professional attitude of the division.
• Together with your employees, you implement short-term urban space enhancements (neighbourhood blocks, cycle express projects, Programme 1 Urban Green, enhancement of shared spaces, etc.) in line with the Urban Space and Mobility 2040 strategy. You know and utilise the scope for action as well as the procedures necessary for their implementation.
• You prioritise and coordinate the short-term urban space enhancements with ongoing planning and road construction projects and review and communicate their impact.
• You represent the Urban Space and Mobility 2040 strategy as well as the interests of the Department of Civil Engineering in various professional, political and other exchange committees.

Profile

• Completed university degree in traffic and urban space planning or comparable qualification
• Several years of leadership experience as well as experience in integrated mobility, traffic and urban space planning
• Leadership strength, flexible and independent working style as well as cooperation and conflict management skills
• Responsible, structured and analytical working style with a desire to shape and performance orientation
• Confident German language skills in spoken and written form, strong team and communication skills as well as enjoyment in working with politics and various interest groups
