Assistant Physician in the Medical Oncology Department
The management of the Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is seeking an assistant physician in medical oncology at a workload between 80% and 100%, to complete its medical team. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Medical Oncology Department (ONM), the largest in Switzerland, manages the diagnostic and therapeutic care of adult patients suffering from cancer. It coordinates their care in collaboration with other departments of the Clinical Oncology Department, such as the Haematology Department and the Radiotherapy Department, other CHUV services and private partners, clinics and hospitals in the region.
The ONM establishes indications for anticancer treatments, assumes the prescription and supervision of these treatments in hospital and outpatient settings. It ensures the follow-up of patients thus treated. The establishment of teams and interdisciplinary centres for each tumour type allows patients to benefit from the best expertise in a coordinated manner.
It also coordinates clinical studies, offering access to the latest innovations in oncology across all diseases.
Finally, it participates in diagnostic strategies through screening for genetic predispositions to various types of cancer. It develops surveillance and prevention programmes for at-risk patients.
The ONM is composed of a highly qualified medical team, accompanied by various professionals from different disciplines who collaborate very closely, demonstrating exemplary commitment and extraordinary dedication to the cause of cancer.
