About the job
The internal investigation unit is part of the criminal department and an important service provider for the entire Bern Cantonal Police. Our internal investigation staff support their colleagues in the criminal department and other departments with their versatile field of work – for example, with searches for items, vehicles, and persons, with investigations and recognising connections between offences, with archiving tasks, providing information, processing search requests, and much more. And this around the clock.
Your tasks
- Recording, processing, analysing, and archiving data in IT systems and supporting judicial and security police work
- Creating Ripol reports and search requests
- Providing information to internal and external agencies
- Processing investigation orders and mutual legal assistance requests from external investigative authorities and forwarding them to the appropriate offices
- After an appropriate induction period (about one year), you will occasionally perform night, weekend, and late shifts in our versatile 24-hour operation
Your profile
- A completed vocational training and commercial experience
- Very good German and good French language skills
- The work requires proficient IT user skills
- Enjoyment of data entry, quick comprehension, strong teamwork skills, resilience, loyalty, and discretion
- Flexibility regarding working hours (willingness to work weekends and night shifts)
