Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
For a demanding cloud environment, an experienced individual is sought as a Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer. In this role, you take technical responsibility for the secure and stable operation of a modern Microsoft Azure platform and continuously develop its architecture and operating models.
The focus is on cloud operations, security, identity, networking, and automation. You work closely with architecture, security, application teams, and external partners to ensure that digital services can be operated reliably, scalably, and in a standardised manner.
Responsibilities:
Operation and further development of an Azure platform including landing zones, subscriptions, networks, private endpoints, DNS, key vault, and central services
Implementation of security and governance requirements with Entra ID, IAM, RBAC, PIM, Conditional Access, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy
Responsibility for monitoring, logging, and alerting as well as creation and maintenance of technical operational documentation
Handling incidents, changes, and migrations including root cause analysis and sustainable technical optimisation
Development of infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, and Azure CLI
Collaboration with internal departments and external partners on resilience, backup, recovery, compliance, and cloud cost optimisation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business informatics, or comparable education with several years of experience in Azure operations
Solid knowledge in Azure cloud operations, security, identity & access management, networking, and monitoring
Experience with Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Conditional Access, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy
Very good practical knowledge in infrastructure as code, automation, Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD
Analytical, structured, and independent working style as well as a strong sense of responsibility for security and data protection
Very good German skills at C1 level and good English skills in a technical environment; Azure certifications are an advantage
