Tasks

• You design, implement and operate modern Windows-based platforms and actively develop them further (focus of the position on engineering, with active participation in operations)
• Together with the team, you ensure stable and secure operation throughout the entire lifecycle (Run/Operate & Improve): monitoring/alerting, incident/problem management, patch/release management, capacity/performance and availability
• You drive standardisation, automation and hardening (security) of system environments (e.g. via IaC/scripting)
• You take on engineering responsibility for lifecycle topics: design, build, patch/release management, capacity, performance and availability
• You analyse disruptions sustainably, conduct root cause analyses and establish lasting improvements (problem management)
• You work as a technical lead or specialist in company-wide projects and contribute your know-how
• You advise application managers and internal teams on infrastructure, architecture, security and operating models
• You maintain system, architecture and operational documentation, standards and runbooks and ensure their availability
• After familiarisation, you take on on-call duties in a defined rotation and ensure operational security outside office hours
• Planned maintenance windows and changes regularly take place outside office hours and at weekends (as required)

Requirements

• Completed IT training (EFZ/HF/FH) or comparable, several years of practical experience as a Windows System Engineer
• Very good knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server & clients, MS SQL (operational), Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange (online/hybrid), Teams/VoIP
• Experience with virtualisation technologies, ideally VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter)
• Good knowledge of network technologies and security basics (LAN/WLAN, Cisco, 802.1x, hardening, identity & access concepts)
• Experience with backup/restore and storage (e.g. Veeam) as well as monitoring/logging
• Strong skills in automation & scripting (PowerShell; ideally Git-based working methods, CI/CD-related methods are an advantage)
• Familiarity with Ansible and source code management with Git is an advantage
• Structured, independent working style, high service orientation and good communication; user knowledge of the Atlassian Cloud Suite
• Very good German; French and/or Italian skills are an advantage
