The Burgdorf Regional Prison is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a secure, structured and responsible enforcement of various types of detention. With around 160 inmates and 60 employees, we ensure an orderly operation and high safety standards every day. We are guided by the motto: "Safety today and tomorrow. Your tasks
- You process the orders of the inmates in connection with the internal kiosk, manage their accounts and post the business transactions in the specialist application GINA. In addition, you provide information, maintain and update the inmate files and handle the institution's mail. You ensure structured filing and archiving and manage forms.
- You manage the main cash register, handle the cash transactions and ensure the control of the cash balance. In addition, you take care of creditor and debtor processing, assist with monthly and annual financial statements including inventory, and manage the assigned bank accounts.
- You handle special transactions on behalf of management, take on general administrative tasks and support in extraordinary events.
Your profile
- You have a commercial basic education (EFZ) and possess knowledge of accounting.
- You are proficient in the use of common MS Office programmes. Experience with SAP and GINA as well as professional experience in public administration are advantageous.
- You work precisely, reliably and carefully and have a strong awareness of security. Even with different tasks, you keep an overview and set your priorities independently. You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility for your area of expertise and are characterised by a committed and professional working style.
- You communicate confidently in German both orally and in writing and also have good knowledge of French.

About the Office of Justice Enforcement
The Office of Justice Enforcement (AJV) is responsible for open and closed penal and measure enforcement for adults and juveniles within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID) with around 1000 employees. To fulfil this task, the office has four concordat justice enforcement institutions, four regional prisons, the surveillance station at Inselspital, the detention control centre as well as probation and enforcement services at its disposal.
