The Herisau Library is a modern regional library with an integrated toy library service and an important cultural meeting place for people of all ages. The current postholder will retire in spring 2027. Therefore, we are looking for a committed, proactive and communicative personality as of 1 April 2027 or by arrangement for the position of

Head of Herisau Library (70-80 %)

Your tasks

• Strategic, operational and personnel overall management of the library
• Continuation and development of the media collections
• Maintenance and expansion of public relations as well as contact with sponsors, authorities, foundations, etc.
• Responsibility for budget, planning and quality development
• Cooperation and exchange with the regional libraries in the Appenzell region

Your profile

• Training in librarianship, book trade or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a similar position
• High customer orientation combined with an independent and responsible way of working
• Experience or affinity in the field of social media
• Good IT skills
• Team and communication skills
