What you will do here
- Teaching in the Civil Engineering degree program, but also occasionally in Architecture, Wood Technology, and continuing education with a focus on computer-aided structural design, BIM, and integral planning processes
- Convey practical knowledge of digital methods, simulation-based and process-oriented planning based on digital models
- Bring operational experience from planning offices into teaching and promote transfer between theory and practice
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary teaching formats and their further development
- Lead the specialist group "Integral Construction and Planning Processes," further develop its strategy, and lead a team of lecturers and scientific staff
- Initiate research projects within your expertise, acquire third-party funding, and expand thematic areas focusing on the twin transition in construction
The title of Professor may be used provided the requirements according to the BFH personnel regulations are met.
What you ideally bring with you
- Completed university degree in civil engineering or a related field. Dissertation in the subject area desired and/or in-depth professional knowledge
- Several years of leadership experience, leadership training desired; motivation to develop your own research topics within your expertise
- Solid teaching and research experience at the university level
- Strong understanding of the positioning of the subject area in business, society, and politics
- Good professional networking (national, international) in science and practice
- Several years of professional experience in a planning office or in construction practice is a prerequisite
- Solid knowledge of digital planning and simulation methods (e.g., structural analysis, parametric modeling, automated evaluation)
- Interest in integrating AI-supported methods into planning and decision-making processes
- Enjoyment of teaching and willingness for didactic development
- German, French, or English as a second language
