On behalf of the municipalities, the Cantonal Social Services Office fulfills the task of providing social and addiction assistance to people and supports them in accessing economic social assistance. To this end, it manages eight regional social services in the canton.

The Central Grisons Regional Social Service is responsible for 25 municipalities, with a catchment area of 23,000 people.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we are looking for a head for the management of the Central Grisons Regional Social Service in Thusis starting February 1, 2026 or by agreement. There is the possibility of co-management. An orderly handover is guaranteed.
Tasks
- Leading a team of about ten employees
- Supporting staff in complex consultations
- Collaboration and maintenance of contacts with social authorities (municipalities) and specialized services
- Participation in professional exchange between social services and development of uniform practices across all eight locations
- Solution- and resource-oriented social counseling for individuals and families
- Ensuring access to social insurance benefits as well as economic social assistance
- Advising on linguistic, professional, and social integration for recognized refugees and provisionally admitted persons as well as foreigners
- Advising persons with S protection status placed in individual housing as well as calculating and deciding on financial assistance benefits
- Other varied, interesting, and responsible activities
What we expect from you
- Completed training as a social worker BSc/SUP or equivalent qualification
- Leadership experience, strong social and counseling skills, and specialized knowledge of social assistance law and social insurance
- Ability to work with people from different social backgrounds and/or cultural origins
- Friendliness, ability to handle intense work rhythms, team spirit, good communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Ideally good knowledge of foreign languages
- Independent and solution-oriented working method
