About the job
The love of Swiss Chocolate for 125 years in Fribourg. Our chocolate factory, founded by Wilhelm Kaiser in 1901, is still present in Fribourg. We make our famous Têtes au Choco, our chocolates with liqueur, and also various types of milk chocolates from the region.
To support the different operational teams, we are looking for a
QUALITY COORDINATOR
General:
Integrated into the quality department within a small team, we offer you a permanent and versatile position in a food company recognised on the Swiss and international market. Our company, a subsidiary of the European group Savencia, has existed for over a century and has throughout these years combined tradition and innovation to design and manufacture quality products. In a dynamic work environment, you interact transversally with many internal and external stakeholders.
Main activities:
Distribution quality
- Manage and follow up consumer, client and private label complaints, including exports.
- Support the development and validation of packaging.
- Update product technical sheets and client portals.
- Supervise the inspection of packaging upon receipt.
- Ensure the quality referencing of raw materials, follow up and handle supplier complaints as well as evaluate and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure regulatory and media monitoring.
Product quality
- Lead the sensory analysis approach to assess product quality and support product superiority projects.
- Organise, facilitate and exploit internal and external sensory panels.
- Define and maintain sensory evaluation protocols and product performance criteria.
- Conduct and monitor tastings, ageing tests and comparative evaluations (benchmarking, consumer tests, expert juries).
- Contribute to the evolution of product standards based on sensory and analytical results.
Operational quality
- Participate in cross-functional projects by providing quality and sensory expertise.
- Lead the Food Fraud approach and associated control plans.
- Contribute to updating HACCP and Food Defense risk assessments.
- Support team skill development through training and awareness.
- Act as backup administrator of the document database and support users.
- Contribute to safety, continuous improvement and CSR objectives.
Your profile:
- Agricultural engineer or experienced food technician with at least 1-2 years of experience
- Fluency in French, minimum B2 level in German and English
- Experience in quality at supplier/client level for 1-2 years
- Good project management skills
- Successful initial experience in the food sector and in a medium-sized company promoting versatility
- Knowledge of Swiss and European regulations and FSSC22000, IFS or BRC certifications
- Knowledge of analytical methods in the laboratory
- Experience in chocolate or confectionery is a plus
- Experience in auditing is a plus
- You live in the Fribourg region or immediate surroundings
