About the job
The Hospitals of Schaffhausen include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Annually, we care for about 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. Additionally, we are an important training institution in the canton.
We are looking for an intern in social services as part of an ongoing degree in Social Work or Social Pedagogy (FH) for the second internship.
The internship usually lasts 6 months and is part of the degree programme.
During the six-month internship, you will gain insight into the work of our social services and can actively participate in advising and supporting patients and their relatives.
You will complete the internship at our Psychiatric Centre Breitenau location.

- Advising patients, their relatives and/or carers
- Developing solutions for a variety of issues related to illness and accident in the areas of work and profession, social insurance, housing and discharge planning
- Advising and recommending in the interdisciplinary treatment team on psychosocial issues
- Organising follow-up solutions
- Contributing to the further development of our services
