About the job
We are building the machine that makes your gym unnecessary.
TomFit develops and builds patented training devices — with a small team that combines mechanics, electronics and software under one roof. Now we are moving from small series to full production.
We are not looking for a theorist, but someone who thinks systems through, designs and tests circuits themselves, and does not discard wild ideas but brings them onto the circuit board, into the control cabinet and into the machine as a whole. Our pace is fast, solutions count more than concepts.
What you can achieve with us
- Shape the electronics at TomFit from the ground up: you set the tools, standards and processes yourself
- Rethink and implement the electronics of our devices — current sensing, control cabinet, bus, including ideas that no one has approved yet
- Bring sensors and diagnostics into the devices: what they measure, how they detect and report errors themselves, how the service looks, which module is acting up. There is much more to come — you help build it
- Design circuit boards yourself or lead projects and commission them in the device
- Help shape the path to series production: EMC, testability, second source, documentation
- Make and take responsibility for technical decisions — directly with suppliers, hardware and software, without silos
What you bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (ETH, EPFL, FH or equivalent)
- You have physically worked on things — during studies, internships, in the workshop, on real hardware
- You are a doer: schematic, layout, prototype, test and series — you see it through to the running device
- 12/24 V circuits are familiar to you
- Interfaces are everyday: CAN/CANopen, SPI, analogue sensors, embedded (STM32, Raspberry Pi or similar) and enough software knowledge to communicate on equal terms with firmware and host side
- Fast and solution-oriented: you prefer to decide rather than maintain processes
- Confident in German, everyday English
Nice to have
- Current measurement, EMC, control cabinet wiring, power electronics
- Sensor integration (Hall, vibration, temperature, force) and diagnostic concepts: self-test, error counters, condition monitoring
- Linux on the device, Python/C for testing and evaluation
- AI as a tool in daily work — and an understanding of what runs on the AI-PC of our devices (sensors, coach, inference); not a research profile
- Startup or SME experience where you really had decision-making power
We offer
- Freedom instead of specification ping-pong — quick decisions, build, follow up
- Responsibility with direct impact on our product — you close the electronics/IT gap in the team
- Flexible working hours and fair pay
- Small young team, open culture, short communication paths
- AI tools in daily business — AI-first is practice for us, not a buzzword
- Stay fit — free training on our devices during working hours, for everyone in the team
- Co-shaping a growing company with real health impact
