Your role at LGT
As a Senior GenAI Engineer in the Data & Analytics area, you are a key member of LGT's GenAI team in Zurich and develop production-ready generative applications together with business units and engineering teams.
You design and develop scalable GenAI solutions end-to-end with a clear focus on software quality, architecture, and maintainability. You work on modern AI applications, agentic workflows, model orchestration, and enterprise integrations to reliably bring innovative use cases into production.
As a senior team member, you help shape architecture and engineering standards, take on mentoring, and contribute to further developing AI engineering capabilities within LGT. The role requires strong hands-on engineering skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Design, development, and operation of production-ready GenAI applications end-to-end
Development of robust RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM-based solutions
Integration of GenAI solutions into enterprise systems, APIs, and internal data sources
Use of effective prompt engineering and model orchestration to implement reliable AI systems
Management of solution architecture, technical decisions, and engineering standards to scale AI engineering at LGT
Writing high-quality, well-tested code and applying modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, version control, automated testing)
Collaboration with business units to translate requirements into GenAI solutions and communicate technical concepts clearly
Contribution to shared platform components, evaluation and LLMOps practices, and knowledge sharing to strengthen GenAI engineering skills within the team
University degree (Bachelor or higher) in computer science or a related field
At least 5 years of professional experience in software development with proven production experience, including at least 3 years in agile teams
Very good programming skills in Python and solid software engineering fundamentals (design patterns, testing, clean code)
Practical experience in developing GenAI/LLM applications, including RAG, with modern frameworks and APIs (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI API) as well as vector databases
Experience in designing and developing APIs and backend services (e.g., FastAPI) as well as solid DevOps knowledge: CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, containerization, and deployment automation
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical matters appropriately to the audience
Very good English skills
Nice-to-have
Experience in the financial services sector or another regulated industry
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, and major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
Experience with LLMOps and evaluation frameworks for GenAI applications as well as familiarity with MCP and frameworks like FastMCP
Experience with observability and monitoring of production systems as well as asynchronous or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
German language skills are an advantage
