Senior Buyer for Public Procurement (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
- You monitor the market and identify new procurement opportunities and trends in the railway sector.
- You are responsible for supplier evaluation, selection, and negotiations to ensure the best prices, quality, and delivery times.
- You support your colleagues during onboarding.
- You work closely with internal departments such as engineering, operations, and finance to coordinate procurement needs.
- You independently manage procurement processes in the railway sector, taking into account legal and organisational requirements.
- You monitor and control contracts, deliveries, and payments.
- You prepare tender documents, conduct bid evaluations, and negotiate contracts.
- You ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- You bring negotiation skills, strong analytical abilities, and a high degree of initiative.
- You are willing to travel for work.
- You have experience with common purchasing and ERP systems.
- You hold a degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification (basic education combined with further training).
- You possess sound knowledge of procurement and contract law as well as relevant regulations in the public sector.
- You have several years of professional experience in operational purchasing, ideally in public procurement within the railway sector.
- You have excellent communication skills and are confident in negotiations in German and English.
