Tasks
Leading the Team: You represent the team leader during their absence and take over the leadership of the existing team of 12 employees during this time.
Maintaining the Warehouse: You are responsible for cleanliness and order at the warehouse location. Your duties also include ordering, proper storage, and distribution of consumables to employees. You promptly report any damage to the vehicle and equipment fleet as well as to the warehouse infrastructure to the team leader.
Organising Cleaning: You ensure the professional guidance of employees as well as a smooth and efficient operation of the daily business and are the first point of contact for the employees.
Performing Special Operations: In winter service, you ensure snow- and ice-free roads, footpaths, pavements, and BVB stops. In addition, you regularly perform work assignments on weekends, public holidays, and during major events.
Profile
Experience: You have experience in the cleaning and/or logistics sector.
Personality: Good assertiveness, high social competence (especially integration and communication skills, ability to reflect, and teamwork), goal-oriented commitment, active participation in the team, and willingness to continue learning. Openness to new technologies and quick comprehension in the digital environment.
Education: You have completed training in a manual trade (vocational certificate) and hold a category B driving licence.
Language: Good German skills in spoken and written form, foreign languages are an advantage.

The Civil Engineering Office coordinates, plans, builds, documents, and maintains roads with associated infrastructures and is responsible for public sewage systems. It is responsible for flood protection and safe traffic routes. It also coordinates the use of public spaces and is the lead authority in the approval process. It collects and disposes of waste and ensures cleanliness in the city of Basel. The Civil Engineering Office makes an important contribution to a high quality of life in Basel and is part of the Department of Construction and Transport.
