Public Procurement Specialist (m/f/d)
Our client is an established engineering and consulting company in the field of transport infrastructure. The company supports public and private clients in the planning and realisation of technically demanding infrastructure projects and accompanies them through various project phases.

Responsibilities:
- You ensure compliance with legal regulations and guidelines for public procurement, including adherence to tendering procedures and transparency requirements.
- You identify potential suppliers, assess their performance, and select the best providers from tender offers considering quality, price, and sustainability criteria.
- You are responsible for conducting the operational procurement process for the rail sector, including analysing requirements, preparing tender documents, and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
- You monitor market trends and developments in public procurement to identify and implement innovative procurement solutions.
- You oversee supplier contracts, conduct supplier evaluations, and implement measures to improve performance.
- You negotiate contract terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve competitive prices and favourable conditions.
- You work closely with internal departments such as finance, legal, and logistics to ensure an efficient procurement process.
Qualifications:
- You have experience in the rail transport sector or a comparable public transport system.
- You have completed vocational training in purchasing or hold a degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- You have proven professional experience in operational purchasing in public procurement, ideally with experience in the rail sector.
- You possess in-depth knowledge of legal frameworks and tendering procedures in the public sector.
- You have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- You have negotiation skills and knowledge in contract negotiations.
- You demonstrate high self-motivation and result orientation.
- You have analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and make well-founded decisions.
- You possess strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
