About the job

The Institute of Mobility at the University of St.Gallen (IMO-HSG) deals with future-oriented mobility solutions. At its core, it focuses on the ecological, economic, social, and behavioral investigation and classification of modern forms of mobility and the development of holistic mobility concepts. To this end, the IMO maintains a close-knit network with research institutions and mobility experts, especially from Europe as well as the USA and China. In addition, the IMO is closely connected with decision-makers from politics and business. This corresponds to the IMO's declared goal of constructively shaping the current mobility transition.

Your tasks

As part of your work at the PwC Lab of the Institute of Mobility, you will primarily deal with application fields of artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of current mobility developments. On the one hand, it will be about broadly determining the potential of AI-based technologies for various application areas in the mobility sector; on the other hand, you will develop specific solution approaches for selected application fields and applications as part of your research work. In your own area of responsibility, the primary focus will be on developing solution concepts (not the technical implementation). However, it is also possible that selected ideas arising from your research will be transferred into a technical implementation process with further cooperation partners.

Your profile

A completed university degree in the field of economics or engineering sciences or another course of study related to mobility and/or innovation
A strong interest in mobility topics
Enjoyment in taking responsibility, organizational talent, as well as a high degree of initiative and flexibility
Very good language skills in German and English
Meeting the formal requirements for a doctorate at the University of St.Gallen (minimum grade average 5.0 (CH) or 2.0 (DE), doctoral admission at the home university)
