About the job
Start date:
1 June 2027
Workplace:
Erlach
Retirements in the service sector provide us with the opportunity to realign our organisation as of summer 2027. In doing so, we are consolidating leadership structures and simultaneously developing the agogic orientation of our operational areas in a targeted manner.
For this realignment, we are seeking a strong leadership, innovative and networked-thinking personality as of 1 June 2027.
You will take on the overall operational and strategic leadership of the areas Infrastructure & Environment, Kitchen and Housekeeping and directly lead the responsible group leaders. At the same time, you will shape an important development step of SHE: Our operational areas are to become even more learning, experience and relief spaces for our pupils in the future.
Your tasks
• Lead and shape: You lead the entire service sector in terms of personnel, expertise and organisation, further develop the group leaders and ensure sustainable structures and efficient processes.
• Further develop agogics: Together with the specialist departments, you develop the work-agogic orientation further and create practical modules with an educational character as well as complementary relief offers in conjunction with the school mission.
• Enable learning environments: You use the diverse operational work fields – from infrastructure and environment through agriculture, gardening and Seemätteli to kitchen and housekeeping – as real learning and experience spaces for our pupils.
• Work interdisciplinarily: You actively shape the collaboration between school, residential/social pedagogy and service sector. Together, suitable offers and settings are developed that are oriented towards the individual needs of the pupils.
• Take responsibility: You are responsible for personnel recruitment and development, resource and deployment planning as well as the budget of your area and ensure compliance with cantonal framework conditions.
• Shape the institution: As a member of the management team, you actively contribute your perspective to the strategic and organisational development of the Schulheim Schloss Erlach.
Your profile
• Qualification and leadership: You have a completed professional qualification (EFZ) as well as solid professional and leadership experience. A corresponding leadership training is an advantage; equivalent, proven leadership experience is also considered.
• Agogic competence: You bring a work-pedagogical or agogic qualification or solid practical experience – or are willing to develop further in this area.
• Networked thinking: You recognise development opportunities and understand how to connect operational requirements with pedagogical-agogic objectives.
• Personality: You are a confident, resilient and conflict-capable leadership personality who involves employees, provides orientation and takes responsibility.
• Attitude and integrity: A solution-oriented basic attitude, a professional approach to closeness and distance as well as a responsible handling of confidential information are natural for you.
We offer you
• You do not simply take over an existing area – you have the opportunity to actively help shape and build a new organisational structure.
• You work at an exciting interface of leadership, operation, education and agogics and can contribute to creating additional learning and development spaces for children and young people from operational work fields.
• You can expect a multiprofessional environment, short decision-making paths, scope for design and employment conditions according to the cantonal regulations of the Directorate for the Interior and Justice.

The Schulheim Schloss Erlach is a cantonal institution of the educational system of child and youth welfare. It educates and cares for children and young people with normal intelligence, some of whom have learning difficulties, who are in difficult life situations. They live in socially pedagogical residential groups mixed by age and gender and mostly attend the internal special education school. In the sense of reintegration, the institution also offers outpatient care with day groups as well as regular school attendance in Erlach. The agricultural and horticultural operation, the technical service, housekeeping, catering and administration are part of the pedagogical concept: they serve as learning, experience and work fields. The institution works according to the systemic-solution-oriented LOA approach. In accompanying the clientele, we orient ourselves to the model of Cooperative Process Design (KPG).
