About the job
Trafag is a globally leading, internationally oriented, medium-sized Swiss high-tech company specialised in the development, manufacture and marketing of sensors and control devices for demanding applications. Our continuous growth is based on innovative strength, excellent quality products and our pronounced customer proximity.
For our development team at the headquarters in Bubikon, we are looking for a committed individual as
Senior Electronics Development Engineer (m/f) 80-100%
(m)any are welcome to apply. Gender, age, origin? We are interested in your skills and enthusiasm for this position.
As a recognised specialist, you take on the technical responsibility for the electronic hardware of our sensors and measuring devices in a central role. You develop new solutions, optimise existing products and ensure that our electronics function reliably even under demanding operating conditions.
In our team, you work closely with other specialists from electronics, firmware, measurement technology, testing, design and other areas. From the initial idea to series production, you accompany products and contribute your expertise where technically challenging issues need to be solved.
This is what gets you up in the morning:
- Development of sophisticated analogue and digital electronics for our sensor and measuring devices
- Conceptualisation, design and dimensioning of electronic circuits with a sound understanding of their behaviour and limits
- Design and review of PCB layouts considering signal integrity, impedances, decoupling, crosstalk as well as grounding and power supply concepts
- Planning and execution of meaningful measurements for characterisation, verification and optimisation of circuits and electronic systems
- Collaboration with internal specialists throughout the entire product development process
- Development of robust, EMC-compliant electronics and suitable protection concepts, for example against ESD, burst and surge
- Technical support for demanding electronic issues from development, testing, quality and production
- If you have firmware experience, you can also contribute to firmware development and support our firmware team with development tasks.
What we expect from you:
- Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering (FH, ETH) or an equivalent technical qualification
- Several years of experience in the development of electronic hardware, ideally for sensors, measuring or industrial products
- Very good knowledge of discrete analogue and digital circuit technology and a pronounced understanding of the real behaviour of electronic circuits
- Experience with common ECAD tools and understanding of the entire PCB creation process up to the manufacturing data
- Sound experience in the metrological characterisation of electronic circuits – you know how to correctly set up, perform and interpret measurements and where typical measurement errors lie
- Experience in analysing and troubleshooting electronic systems
- Extensive know-how in EMC-compliant design and the application of corresponding measurement technology
- Understanding of product development, industrialisation and series production
- Good German and good English skills
- Independent, structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented working style
What you can look forward to:
- Technically demanding tasks with plenty of room for genuine engineering work
- The opportunity to significantly shape electronics from the first idea through circuit and PCB to the series-ready solution
- High personal responsibility and great scope for design in technical solutions and development processes
- An environment where sound technical know-how and the quality of a solution count
- Close collaboration with experienced specialists from various technical disciplines
- Flexible working models including home office options
- Flat hierarchies with short decision-making paths. An open corporate culture. Our employees describe it with attributes such as helpful, familiar and appreciative
- Modern infrastructure in an innovative company in a beautiful location in the Zurich Oberland (parking available)
