About the job
Join us in fostering a community based on solidarity.
Caritas Central Switzerland is a non-profit organisation committed to addressing social issues such as poverty, employment, and participation in Central Switzerland. Over 160 employees, 200 interpreters, and around 250 volunteers dedicate themselves to supporting people in difficult life situations and promoting social and professional integration.
Why this role is important
Our Secondhand & Brocki "Caritas Wohnen" in Sursee makes a strong statement for ecological and social sustainability by reusing and refurbishing donated items. Through your role as a sales and inventory management staff member, you help maintain the goods cycle and finance social Caritas projects with the proceeds from sales.
What your contribution looks like in daily life
- Active customer contact and sales of clothes, furniture, bicycles, toys, and other secondhand items
- Assessment, sorting, and management of donated goods
- Creative planning and implementation of an attractive, sales-promoting product presentation – from small items to larger furniture
- Refurbishment and partial assembly of furniture and other items
- Co-design and further development of processes and offerings at the Sursee location
Who we want on our team
You are a customer-oriented sales personality with a passion for secondhand and identify with the mission of our Secondhand & Brocki to give donated items a second life. You enjoy engaging with different people, work independently and committedly, and take pleasure in providing our customers with a positive shopping experience.
Additionally, you bring the following:
- Experience in sales, ideally in retail or the secondhand sector
- A good sense for product presentation and sales-promoting design
- Creativity and manual skills as well as enthusiasm for hands-on work
- Open, customer-oriented communication and a sense of responsibility
Get involved and help shape the future
We work in a role-based and egalitarian manner. Each person contributes their own strengths and takes responsibility for what matters. You will work in a team with permanent employees as well as people engaged through a work integration programme. Besides your core roles in sales and inventory management, you can take on additional roles depending on your skills, interests, and needs.
We offer you a dynamic and appreciative working environment with plenty of personal responsibility and scope for creativity. This is complemented by attractive employment conditions and social benefits as well as opportunities for professional and personal development.
Ideally, you can start with us by January at the latest. If you would like to learn more about the position beforehand, please contact Yvonne Jaklin from the Sursee team.
