Full or Associate Professor, Chief Physician of the Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery Service
This is a hospital-university position of chief physician of the Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery Service, including a fraction of a professorship. This position is attached to the Hospital Department of Women, Children, and Adolescents and the Academic Department of Pediatrics, Gynecology, and Obstetrics.
The candidate must have extensive clinical experience in pediatric surgery as well as recognized management, communication, and leadership qualities to lead a university clinical service with a high surgical activity. Through their actions, the candidate will supervise, organize, and develop the activity within their service, which consists of two major units: the pediatric surgery unit and the pediatric orthopedics and traumatology unit, as well as a day hospital for outpatient surgery. They must maintain a high level of competence in pediatric surgery and ensure the maintenance of the reference centers attached to the Service (minimally invasive scoliosis surgery, Swiss center for pediatric liver) or highly specialized medical fields assigned to the HUG (complex surgery of the pancreas, liver, and bile ducts, liver transplants, severe injuries and polytrauma, pediatric surgical oncology). They must also strengthen existing collaborations with the Department of Women, Children, and Adolescents as well as other Departments of the HUG.
The ability to lead high-level research in the field of pediatric surgery is required, as well as recognized skills in mentoring, team management, and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
REQUIRED TITLES AND EXPERIENCE:

- Doctorate in medicine and specialization in pediatric surgery or equivalent titles.
- Relevant experience in research leadership and teaching.
- Publications in major international journals.
