About the job
At the Wägelwiesen Residential and Care Centre in Wallisellen/ZH, we offer a home to 118 elderly people requiring light to intensive care. Long-term care, a protected dementia unit, a residential group, 28 retirement apartments, as well as a day and night centre complement our services. Quality of life, autonomy, and safety for our residents are among our core principles. We work with modern concepts in all business areas and always aim to be an attractive and popular employer.
The Wägelwiesen gastronomy team consists of the head chef, seven trained cooks, and six assistants. The kitchen produces meals for the residents, up to 30 meals per day for the Spitex meal service, lunch for the public bistro, as well as additional meals for staff catering and events and banquets.

Regular staff events
30 minutes paid break per day: 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon
Weekend allowances of CHF 7 are also paid on Saturdays
Pension fund with an above-average employer contribution of 60%
The varied working day
- Efficient preparation of high-quality and age-appropriate meals in the hot kitchen
- Receipt of deliveries and their quality control
- Proper storage and inspection of food in the refrigerated area and daily storeroom
- Proper and professional organisation of work within the kitchen service
- Inspection of all kitchen furniture, equipment, and appliances for cleanliness and readiness for use
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training as a Cook EFZ
- Experience in the hotel industry and communal catering
- Clean, efficient working style
- Sense of responsibility and reliability
- Willingness to work as a vocational trainer
