Your Role
As Head Reconciliation at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are entrusted with the leadership responsibility for our reconciliation framework with custodians and cash correspondents, ensuring the absolute integrity of all transactions and positions and the effective resolution of identified discrepancies. Become the head of this core function by leading a dynamic team, steering process optimisation and proactively strengthening internal controls to safeguard the Bank's operational resilience and minimise risk. The exciting, international environment includes strategic collaboration with key stakeholders across the Bank and full accountability for the quality and efficiency of all reconciliation tasks.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading the Reconciliation team, including resource planning, coaching and ensuring seamless daily operations
- Overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly cash and securities reconciliation processes including the verification of special holdings and physical securities, to ensure adherence to the highest quality standards
- Ensuring systematic analysis and timely resolution of cash and security differences in close collaboration with specialised departments
- Driving the reconciliation strategy by leading process improvements, automation initiatives, and robust internal control frameworks to enhance efficiency and operational resilience
- Monitoring outstanding items rigorously and compiling weekly management reports to ensure full transparency on aging discrepancies
- Serving as the primary contact for external audits and coordinating internal reviews with the Risk Office and other control functions
- Executing strategic ad-hoc assignments and special projects delegated by management
Your Profile
- University degree in Finance, Accounting or Controlling or completed apprenticeship or similar banking education
- 5-7 years of practical experience in the field of Operations, Backoffice or Accounting within Financial Services
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Avaloq experience is an advantage
- Ability to weigh problems and set priorities and strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong work ethics, integrity and high level of accountability
- Willingness to take responsibility
- Ability to work under pressure
- Leadership Experience
- Fluency in German and English
