Clerk Forest Management Area
Office for Forest and Natural Hazards | 50-70% | Chur
The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards (AWN) is the cantonal specialist office for the forest and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the AWN advocate for society's needs regarding the forest and ensure sustainable management of the forest.
You ensure that the Graubünden forest
- can protect people, animals, and infrastructure,
- is a habitat for diverse animal and plant species,
- is a raw material supplier of wood, water, and energy,
- can continue to be a recreational and leisure area for people.
We are looking for a Clerk Forest Management Area (50-70%) starting March 1, 2026 or by agreement.
This is what you can achieve:
- Support of the Forest Management area regarding forest supervision, forest law, and forest fire prevention
- Participation in statements within the framework of consultation procedures and hearings
- Handling forest law issues in the context of construction projects
- Preparation of special forestry permits such as forest grazing regulations, easements, and sale/exchange of public forests
- Contact person for GIS questions and digitization in the Forest Management area (GIS power user)
- Management of clearings in the geographic information system
- Digitization of forestry-related content (e.g., forest grazing regulations, water extraction points)
- Support in ensuring forest fire prevention
What distinguishes you for this role:
- Degree as a forest engineer ETH/FH or an equivalent education in forestry or environmental field
- Knowledge of legal remedies and administrative procedures
- Good GIS and IT skills
- Efficient working style and high social competence
- Initiative, team-oriented, and reliable
- General working language is German; good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
