Job description
The stewarding employee ensures the service of culinary offerings within the care home, guaranteeing the comfort, pleasure and satisfaction of residents, families, visitors and staff, while respecting hygiene and safety standards.
They contribute to the well-being of residents through attentive, warm and tailored service to their needs.
- Provide a warm welcome and a caring presence to residents, families and visitors.
- Ensure dining room service for the various meals of the day for residents.
- Provide service in the cafeteria as well as other dining areas of the establishment.
- Distribute residents’ meals in accordance with dietary plans and established regimes.
- Collaborate with nursing, hospitality and activity teams to guarantee a service adapted to residents’ needs.
- Set up and clear tables in the various dining areas (both indoors and outdoors).
- Manage the cash register in the cafeteria.
- Participate in the cafeteria inventory and stock monitoring.
- Carry out routine cleaning and tidying of equipment and furniture.
- Clean tables, floors and premises, maintaining constant cleanliness of dining areas.
- Strictly adhere to current hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP).
- Participate in the preparation of internal events (celebrations, anniversaries, activities).
- Set up and restore spaces after activities or events.
- Ensure respect and maintenance of decorations, providing a welcoming and friendly environment, while contributing to the installation and renewal of seasonal decorations in dining areas and the cafeteria.
- Respect and apply internal waste sorting and sustainable development procedures.
Profile sought
- Diploma from a hotel school or equivalent
- Experience in a care home
- Service orientation and support for residents
- Empathy, kindness and listening skills
- Respect for dignity and confidentiality
- Work in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of hygiene rules in care homes
- Basic knowledge of dietetics and specific diets
- Use of a computerized cash register
- Organisation, rigour and stress management
- Mastery of a second language (German, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese) appreciated
