The Cantonal Social Welfare Office (KSA) undertakes a variety of steering and operational tasks in social assistance, social insurance, social institutions, and the asylum sector.
The Coordination Office for Disability Rights at the KSA supports professionals from the cantonal administration as well as from municipalities in the canton of Zurich with specialist questions concerning disability rights, especially in relation to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It also coordinates, among other things, the implementation of the cantonal action plan on disability rights. We are looking for a university intern for the Coordination Office for Disability Rights starting 1 February 2027 or by arrangement, limited to 6 or 12 months, 60 – 80%.
The Position
- You will engage substantively with questions regarding the rights of people with disabilities
- You will participate in projects, e.g. Disability Rights Action Days, support services for municipalities
- You will conduct research on current topics
- You will contribute to the preparation of reports, statements, and concepts
- You will assist in the development and implementation of information and awareness campaigns or in communication work
- You will support the team with general administrative tasks, e.g. organising events, ensuring document accessibility
Your Profile
- You are a student in a Bachelor’s degree programme in Social Work and must complete a mandatory internship as part of your studies
- You are interested in issues of equality for people with disabilities and wish to gain insight into the work of the Canton of Zurich in the field of disability rights
- You have completed initial training or a degree and have at least three years of professional experience
- You possess strong communication skills, are proficient in using MS Office applications, and have excellent written skills
- You are a service-oriented, resilient, and flexible person with a quick grasp, networked thinking, and a structured way of working
