The Special Education School (HPS) Willisau is a cantonal day school for children and adolescents in the area of cognitive development. Children and adolescents are holistically supported according to their abilities and needs in heterogeneous, mixed-age classes, from the basic level to school leaving.
Your tasks
- Children and adolescents with cognitive impairments are the focus of your work. You plan, carry out, and reflect on therapies to promote language and communication development.
- In our speech therapy team, you conduct assessments, jointly decide on therapy needs, and actively help shape the therapy schedule.
- In your advisory role, you support both parents and teachers by providing valuable information and practical advice.
- You actively contribute to the learners' development process and advocate for their individual growth.
- Close collaboration with the specialist responsible for Supported Communication (SC) is an integral part of your work.
Your profile
- You have an EDK-recognized diploma in speech therapy.
- You apply your strong interest in therapy for learners in the area of cognitive development as well as your knowledge of Supported Communication purposefully.
- You use our well-equipped therapy rooms, the supportive collaboration in the speech therapy and therapy team, and possibly the proven mentoring for starting professional activity at our school.
- You are willing to continuously further educate yourself in the field of speech therapy with learners with special needs.
- High empathy and sensitivity in dealing with learners characterize you and promote a positive and trusting relationship.
