igs Bern offers a home to people with severe cognitive and psychological impairments. In the four residential groups, five residents live in each. They are accompanied around the clock 365 days a year. The daily structure is adapted to their individual needs and possibilities. It is important to us to implement the normalization principle and to promote participation and autonomy among the residents and to enable them to have the highest possible quality of life.

For our Wega residential group in Fraubrunnen BE, we are looking for a competent and cheerful personality to support the team from February 1, 2026, as

Caregiver on an hourly wage (approx. 50%)

What to expect

• You accompany the residents in everyday life.
• You open up new learning and activity fields for them and support them in their personal development.
• You take on tasks in basic care as well as in the household – both areas are central parts of your activity.

What you bring with you

• A completed training as a care specialist (FaBe) or health specialist (FaGe) or an equivalent qualification, or several years of experience in care and nursing.
• The position is also suitable for students of social pedagogy or social work who want to gain practical experience alongside their studies and earn some extra money.
• A respectful, benevolent approach to the residents is as important to you as respectful cooperation in a multidisciplinary team.
• You appreciate the variety of irregular working hours.
• You are willing to perform on-call and weekend duties.
