You can contribute this role

• Maintain and repair aircraft types Super Puma, Cougar and EC135/635, maintenance level A (understand technical documentation in English, level A2)
• Create flight readiness, perform intermediate flight checks and system restorations, and hand over and take over aircraft from pilots
• Perform duties as accompanying mechanic and serve in the flight accident standby team
• Participate in foreign missions for disaster relief, humanitarian and peacekeeping operations
• Contribute as a specialist instructor in Swiss Air Force training and courses

What makes you unique

• Certificate of competence as a polymechanic or similar 4-year technical basic education
• Good physical and mental condition to conduct survival training on land and sea
• Responsible, team- and customer-oriented, independent, precise working style
• Driving licence category B mandatory (C and E advantageous), good IT skills (MS Office/SAP desirable), military basic training (recruit school) advantageous
• Very good knowledge of one official language, additional languages are an advantage

In a nutshell

As the competence centre of the Swiss Air Force (AF) in the helicopter sector, the Alpnach airfield command is responsible for constant operational readiness and offers numerous interesting jobs in a technologically advanced environment. By providing (80%), maintaining and repairing (20%) the Super Puma (TH 06), Cougar (TH 18) and Eurocopter (EC635), we ensure the permanent fulfilment of the Swiss Army’s missions at home and abroad. We provide subsidiary support services during operations and missions in favour of emergency services. In addition, we are deployed in disaster and rescue operations as well as in peacekeeping and humanitarian aid missions.

The Operations Command (Kdo Op) is responsible for all military operations and missions of the Swiss Army. The Kdo Op includes, among others, the Air Force, the Army, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT competence centre, the Special Forces Command and the Military Police.
