Enterprise-level infrastructure: We are looking for a technically strong system engineer who not only operates complex IT landscapes but actively modernises them. The focus is on cloud, virtualisation, servers, security, and automation. A position for infrastructure specialists who want to take technical responsibility and sustainably develop systems further.
Responsibilities:
Operation and further development of modern server and virtualisation platforms
Engineering and optimisation of VMware-based infrastructure environments
Planning and implementation of hybrid cloud architectures
Administration and further development of Microsoft-based server landscapes
Building and optimisation of cloud services based on Azure
Further development of Active Directory, Entra ID, and modern identity concepts
Design and implementation of backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
Administration and optimisation of storage and network components
Analysis and resolution of complex infrastructure and performance issues
Automation of recurring tasks with PowerShell
Building monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
Implementation of modern security standards for servers and infrastructure
Participation in migrations, lifecycle projects, and technological modernisations
Planning and execution of system upgrades and technical changes
Documentation of architectures, operational processes, and technical standards
Support in the further development of infrastructure as code and automated operational processes
Assuming technical responsibility for defined infrastructure services
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as a system engineer, infrastructure engineer, or comparable technical role
Solid knowledge of server and virtualisation technologies
Very good practical experience with VMware vSphere and ideally other VMware products
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
Good knowledge of Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructures
Understanding of network architectures, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewall concepts
Experience with storage, backup, and disaster recovery
Good PowerShell skills and interest in automation
Understanding of modern security and identity concepts
Experience with monitoring and central logging is an advantage
Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Independent, structured, and responsible working style
Enjoyment in continuously improving complex technical environments
High quality standards and willingness to take on technical responsibility
