Apprenticeship Assistant Health and Social Care (AGS) EBA from August 2027

You are not quite sure where you want to go yet. But you know: office work is not for you. You like people. You enjoy helping. And you don’t need to have everything planned three years in advance — you want to start first, see how it is, and then decide. That’s exactly what the AGS apprenticeship is for.

• 1st year — Accompanying & Observing
• 🚀 You always accompany an experienced professional. You learn to listen, observe and take on simple tasks — supporting personal care, keeping company, accompanying daily life. No pressure, no going it alone.
• 2nd year — First independence
• 🚀 You independently take on simpler assignments — always with support. Final project, QV preparation (qualification procedure). Those who wish can then switch directly to the FaGe training — with credit transfer.
• After the EBA — your options
• 🚀 Work directly as AGS at reha at home, switch to FaGe training (shortened to 2 years thanks to credit transfer) — or other paths in health and social care. We support you in this decision.

What you learn during the training

• ✅ Supporting and accompanying personal care
• ✅ Conducting conversations, listening, being there
• ✅ Measuring and observing vital signs
• ✅ Accompanying and relieving relatives
• ✅ Recognising and reporting changes
• ✅Simple documentation and care reports

• ✅ Completion of compulsory schooling — level Sek B or C is expressly welcome. The AGS apprenticeship is deliberately also intended for learners with practical strengths.
• ✅ Enjoyment in dealing with people — you are daily at clients’ homes. Empathy and reliability are more important than school grades.
• ✅ Reliability and punctuality — clients are waiting for you. This is not a cliché, it is the core value of this work.
• ✅ German language skills B1-B2 — you must be able to express yourself clearly, orally and in writing. Perfect German is not necessary.
• ❌ Top grades are not required — those who are practically strong, empathetic and reliable fit with us. AGS is a practical training, not a grammar school.

• 👩 🏫 Fixed vocational trainer, your personal contact person — always reachable, always informed.
• 🤝 Always accompanied in the 1st year, no throwing you in at the deep end — you learn step by step.
• 👓 Insight into all therapy areas, physio, ergo, logo — you see more than in any other AGS apprenticeship.
• 👍 Clear follow-up perspective, FaGe EFZ after the EBA — shortened to 2 years with credit transfer.
• 🏝️ 5 weeks holiday, plus health bonus.
