The HUG are creating an executive directorate for risk management and internal control (DRCI), directly attached to the Deputy General Management, and are seeking its director.
Job Description
Reporting directly to the Deputy General Director, you lead and coordinate all the missions of the new Risk Management Directorate (DRCI), ensuring the efficiency of the services provided.
As director, you propose the specific strategy for risk management and internal control, taking into account institutional challenges and the needs of partner entities.
You ensure the implementation of this strategy and develop a risk culture, in consultation with the General Management and the Board of Directors, and with the teams of the directorates and departments. In particular, you design and maintain a transversal and sectoral risk map, ensuring a methodical and comprehensive view of institutional exposures. You structure and facilitate risk steering bodies to ensure effective and shared governance.
To carry out your mission, you establish a central risk management team which you lead, in functional connection with the decentralised risk and internal control teams in the directorates and departments. You define performance indicators and adapt criteria and approaches to hospital and medical specificities, and deploy a dedicated digital tool for risk management, crisis management, and internal control. With an integrated vision, you maintain a consolidated risk portfolio by identifying interdependencies. You also ensure coherence of risk coverage plans and intervene in crisis management to guarantee appropriate measures and coordination with the relevant stakeholders.
Through your client-oriented and proactive consultation approach, you establish a collaborative and trusting relationship conducive to risk control, implementation, and supervision of institutional internal control, without ever losing sight of the independence and rigour inherent to your role.
Promoting innovation and continuous improvement, you deploy an institutional programme of risk culture, crisis management, and internal control to strengthen institutional maturity.
Thanks to your leadership, you develop a favourable, stimulating, and professionalising work environment for your team and the network you lead, in accordance with institutional values.
Qualifications
You hold a university Master’s degree or an engineering diploma complemented by a certified training in risk management (ISO31000, COSO, for example). Project management training is an asset.
You have at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role in a complex environment (ideally in the hospital or healthcare sector) and have structured an institutional system with organisational transformation that allowed you to exercise transversal leadership.
Throughout your career, you have acquired mastery of risk analysis methods (FMEA, cause tree, RCA, etc.) and an in-depth knowledge of Swiss quality and regulatory standards. You have developed strong negotiation and interest weighing skills, with integrity and assertiveness, and know how to interact with governing bodies and operational professions. You have proactively implemented process improvements and efficiency approaches; you have demonstrated innovation and agility skills.
Your solution orientation, project work experience, and performance monitoring, combined with your analytical and synthesis skills, enable you to think systemically and develop an effective and rigorous approach in your work.
Finally, you identify with the values of the HUG and embody them in all your actions.
