Head of Legal, Regulatory & Compliance
This is how you ensure electricity in Switzerland
You take on a key role in the extended executive management and shape the legal, regulatory and governance positioning of Swissgrid in a highly dynamic environment.
Your main tasks include:
- Overall responsibility for Legal, Regulatory & Compliance at the corporate level
- Sparring partner for the executive management on legal, regulatory and governance-related issues
- Ensuring, together with the executive management, compliance with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements
- Responsibility for Legal Assurance, contract management and directive system
- Responsibility for the development and management of the regulatory strategy
- Building and maintaining relationships with authorities, supervisory bodies and external committees
- Representing the company’s interests at national and international levels
- Leading and further developing the organisational unit
This is how you make a difference
For this demanding leadership role, we are looking for an integral and convincing personality with pronounced strategic and legal competence:
- Swiss lawyer’s licence
- Several years of experience as General Counsel or in a comparable senior leadership role in a complex, regulated environment
- Sound knowledge of Swiss law and basic knowledge of relevant EU law as well as the regulatory and political environment
- Combines high personal integrity with entrepreneurial thinking and acting, always keeping Swissgrid’s legal mandate in view
- Uses regulatory scope responsibly and develops pragmatic solution options for implementing strategic projects
- Acts as a strong sparring partner for the CEO and executive management and takes a well-founded and constructive position even in challenging situations
- Convincing, integral leadership personality with the ability to develop teams, provide orientation and create an environment of responsibility and performance
- Proven experience in dealing with authorities, supervisory bodies and demanding stakeholders as well as a confident appearance at top management level
- German or French at native level as well as very good knowledge of the other major national language and business fluent English skills
