Main task: As a police security assistant for reporting & investigation, you are an important point of contact for the public regarding police matters. You advise, provide information, receive reports and notifications, and clarify facts independently. In doing so, you recognise connections, check information for legal relevance, and prepare the next steps. With your careful working method and confident appearance, you make an important contribution to professional and citizen-oriented police work.

You identify contradictions and open questions, secure and evaluate simple evidence, and initiate necessary immediate measures within your area of responsibility. You support police investigations through research and clarifications, prepare information, and document interviews. Additionally, you advise on prevention issues, refer to responsible specialist offices if necessary, and handle assignments from public prosecutors and other authorities. Back-office administrative and enforcement assistance also belong to your area of activity.
Collaboration: You work in police uniform closely with various police services, authorities, and specialist offices. In the police internal service, you independently take on demanding tasks in case processing and support police work with careful clarifications and administrative activities. You recognise the limits of your responsibility and involve the appropriate police forces if necessary. Case allocation, professional quality control, and final decisions lie within their responsibility.
Important dates and selection procedures: The application deadline for all interested parties is 20 November 2026. On 25 and 26 November 2026, the German and cognitive aptitude tests will take place. Further aptitude tests will be held depending on your notice period on 8 and 9 December 2026 primarily for persons with a four-month notice period and from 12 to 14 January 2027 for persons with a three-month notice period.
Profile
Experience: Ideally, you have professional experience in the commercial sector, in administration, or in a comparable role. You communicate clearly and convincingly, quickly grasp even complex matters, and think analytically and interconnectedly. Your working style is structured, independent, and responsible. You approach different people openly and respectfully, conduct conversations empathetically, and represent your position factually and firmly even in demanding situations. You remain calm, handle feedback constructively, and know your own limits. You are physically and mentally resilient, service-oriented, and confident in using PC, smartphone, and digital applications.
Requirements: You possess Swiss citizenship or a C residence permit and are under 57 years old at the start of training. You have an impeccable reputation, with no ongoing criminal or debt enforcement proceedings. Tattoos on the head and face are not permitted. Tattoos on other body parts must comply with applicable legal and social requirements.
Education: You have completed a vocational apprenticeship with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ), an equivalent or higher educational qualification. Commercial training and corresponding professional experience are advantageous.
