"Tailored enforcement" is our motto at the Thorberg Correctional Facility. We enforce sanctions on 170 men from over 40 nations in closed custody. Our 140 employees dedicate themselves daily to the reintegration of inmates into society, thereby making an important contribution to public safety. In eleven workshops, we lead and support inmates according to work-educational principles. Our programmes in the areas of work, therapy, education, sport and leisure are consistently aimed at risk reduction and social integration.
Your tasks
Painting and work education
- You organise and jointly manage the painting department with your colleague according to the team management’s specifications and ensure efficient, high-quality and timely execution of the tasks.

- You impart craft skills, promote the work competencies of the inmates and create a structured, productive working day.
- You consistently enforce applicable safety regulations (including occupational safety) and operational rules and ensure order, cleanliness, quality and responsible handling of materials and tools.
Facility maintenance
- You carry out minor repair, maintenance and restoration work on buildings, facilities and operational infrastructure – depending on the assignment, together with EP.
- You identify defects and damages, assess the need for action and recommend necessary measures to the team management.
- You support the technical service, especially with maintenance work in the specialist area and collaborate with internal departments as well as external specialists.
- You participate in seasonal work, especially winter services, and support other operational tasks if required, for example in the shipping department.

Your profile
- You have completed vocational training as a painter with a Federal VET Diploma or possess a comparable craft-technical qualification.
- You have professional experience in a painting department and ideally practical knowledge in facility maintenance or upkeep.
- Further training as a facility maintenance specialist, maintenance technician or in a comparable technical field is an advantage. Alternatively, you are willing to undertake targeted further training.
- You work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented manner and know how to plan and implement craft work efficiently.
- You enjoy guiding people work-educationally, promoting their skills and consistently enforcing binding rules.
- You act responsibly, remain calm even in demanding situations and interact professionally and respectfully with diverse people.
- You hold driving licences or are willing to obtain them (at least category B as well as SUVA-recognised forklift licences R1/R4, other categories advantageous).
