About the job
This is what the professional everyday life looks like
- Overall responsible professional, personnel and organisational management of the Pneumology Clinic within the University Centre for Internal Medicine (UZIM) at the Liestal and Bruderholz locations
- Great scope for design with the possibility to further develop and shape the specialist area at KSBL. Expansion of outpatient pneumology. Leadership and further development of the pneumology training centre (Category B, ideally development to Category A).
- Implementation and further development of diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy as well as use of the entire modern pneumological diagnostic spectrum, especially tumour diagnostics, sleep medicine, lung function diagnostics and sonography; independent specialist outpatient activity
- Further development of efficient and patient-oriented clinical processes as well as new care services
- Active shaping of a appreciative, performance-oriented leadership culture
- Close interdisciplinary cooperation within the UZIM as well as with other specialist disciplines and external referrers
- Ensuring and active participation in the specialist pneumological on-call and background service; participation in the internal medicine senior background service
- Active participation in teaching (training, further education and continuing education)
- Involvement in clinical and scientific projects
- Opportunity to actively help shape the future medical leadership structure of pneumology: there is the option to bring an already familiar senior medical personality into the team
Competences and potential
- Specialist title in pneumology as well as general internal medicine or an equivalent MEBEKO-recognised qualification
- Broad clinical experience in pneumology with proven expertise in diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy
- Leadership experience in a clinical senior position and enjoyment in developing employees and teams
- Requirements and willingness to professionally take responsibility for and further develop the pneumology training centre according to SIWF requirements
- A habilitation/strong academic record is an advantage, not a prerequisite
- Strong ability for interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration
- Entrepreneurial thinking and willingness to shape
- Clear, binding communication as well as an integrative leadership personality
- High quality, patient and service orientation
