Role:

You think of networks in architectures rather than individual devices. In this position, as a Senior Network Security Engineer, you are responsible for the technical direction of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network security across the entire company. Complex routing issues with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and OSPF intrigue you more than they deter you. When things get serious, you take technical leadership and search for the cause until you find it. This makes you the first point of contact for demanding network topics.

Responsibilities:

• You design redundant and scalable network architectures for data centres, central services, and branch offices.

• In major incidents, you lead the technical analysis and conduct thorough root cause analyses.

• You independently drive network migrations, site integrations, and lifecycle projects forward.

• Additionally, you develop security policies, ACLs, and zone models as well as VPN architectures for cross-site connections.

• You test new network and firewall technologies in proof of concepts and advance observability approaches for the infrastructure.

• Furthermore, you establish technical standards for switching, DNS, and certificate handling and coach other engineers on complex issues.

Qualifications:

• You bring at least five years of practical experience in planning and operating demanding enterprise networks.

• You know route selection and redistribution in detail and are confident in OSPF as well as IPv6 environments.

• You work proficiently with trunking, spanning tree, and network segmentation and understand the interrelations at the architectural level.

• Moreover, you have broad experience with enterprise firewalls, NAT, and remote access solutions.

• Packet captures, logs, and routing analyses are your tools when you investigate persistent errors.

• Additionally, you impress with an analytical view of the overall system and combine high availability, failover, and secure communication flows into viable solutions.
