Your area of responsibility
To strengthen the management team, we are looking for a assertive, entrepreneurial-minded personality with a pronounced hands-on mentality as Head of Controlling (a). In this key role, you act as a sparring partner for management – reporting directly to the EVP Finance and leading a team of 7 employees in Sulgen, Slovenia & Italy. You bear overall responsibility for all controlling processes of the Business Unit Life Science.
Strategic financial management As a sparring partner for management and the EVP Finance, you provide well-founded analyses as well as forward-looking assessments of opportunities and risks. You ensure that controlling processes are implemented efficiently, stably, and uniformly across the group. You prepare complex financial and business data so that it is understandable, concise, and decision-relevant for different stakeholders.
Planning and closing You are responsible for financial medium-term planning, budgeting, and the preparation of forecasts. Timely and high-quality closings are part of your duties, as well as the analysis of deviations in the profit and loss statement. You derive concrete recommendations for action and ensure compliance with all reporting and accounting standards.
Reporting and analytics You further develop modern BI reporting systems and dashboards, ensure data quality and transparency, and make sure that financial and operational data can be used efficiently. Additionally, you support and train the controlling team and other departments in handling reporting and analysis tools, thus creating a reliable basis for fact-based decisions.
Cost, performance, and project controlling You monitor cost centers, margins, and investments and are responsible for project controlling including cash flow analyses, forecasts, and profitability assessments. You manage productivity and profitability across various business areas and provide well-founded financial evaluations for investment and make-or-buy decisions.
Team leadership & compliance You lead the controlling team of the business unit both disciplinarily and professionally, promote a proactive and solution-oriented working style, and develop your employees purposefully. Furthermore, you ensure compliance with internal guidelines as well as external regulatory requirements and work closely with auditors.
Requirements
Solid expertise and many years of practical experience in controlling within an internationally active industrial company
Tertiary degree in business administration, engineering, or similar; an additional qualification as a certified expert in accounting & controlling is an advantage
An analytical, responsible, and entrepreneurial-minded personality with strong communication & presentation skills, leadership competence, and a pronounced hands-on mentality
Ideally, you have already expanded your leadership skills through practical experience – you definitely like to take responsibility and actively complete projects
Very good knowledge of SAP FI & CO as well as BI/reporting tools, ideally with key user experience
Fluent German & English skills, both spoken and written
