In the municipality of Lyss with over 16,000 inhabitants, around 1,850 students are taught at 4 school locations.
Each location has school social work and a day school. At the Lyssbach school, around 630 students are taught in 29 classes from kindergarten to 9th grade. Due to the retirement of the current holder, we are looking for a replacement as of 1.8.2026

Tasks
As part of the professional assignment, you will take on the professional, organizational, and personnel management of the Lyssbach school together with a second school management and an MR school management.
You are a member of the Lyss school management conference and report professionally and personally to the Department of Education + Culture. You are responsible for implementing cantonal and municipal requirements and for cross-departmental cooperation with the municipality. An important part of the task includes the further development of the school and the quality of teaching as well as advising and supporting teachers and guardians in case of disagreements.
Requirements
You enjoy a demanding leadership position in the school environment, are used to thinking and acting both strategically and operationally, and are not afraid to make decisions. After pedagogical studies and teaching experience, you have completed further training as a school principal or are willing to undertake it. Ideally, you bring experience in school management or a comparable leadership role. A positive view of people, teamwork skills, and resilience complete your profile. You have already demonstrated your personal responsibility and communication skills several times.
