About the job
The Construction, Sewer and Watercourse Maintenance team is part of the Operations and Maintenance division and is responsible for the care, preservation and cleaning of wastewater and hydraulic engineering facilities and roads. This primarily includes the maintenance of the sewer systems, pumping stations and wells of the city of Thun.
We are looking for a candidate from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement
Your tasks:
- You will work in the team on all maintenance and cleaning tasks of all wastewater systems and wells
- Your duties also include the maintenance of watercourses, including stream reinforcements, bank protection structures and sediment traps
- Furthermore, you will provide on-call service in the wastewater and hydraulic engineering areas and in winter also in snow clearance and ice control
You bring with you:
- A completed vocational training (EBA) in a manual trade
- A driving licence category B is essential, as well as experience in handling machinery, ideally with a flushing device
- Besides your reliability and physical resilience, it is important to us that you are willing to work in sometimes narrow sewers
